Big News: Bolinas Beach Closure
Bolinas Beach is closed for the first time because of a septic leakage from the cliffs above. The beach was closed Sept. 6, the Point Reyes Light reported. It is currently indefinitely closed. You can read more here or check out the most recent Bolinas Civic Group Meeting, click to 15:27.

Marin County Board OK’s Rentals Fees
On June 25th, 2024, The Marin County Board of Supervisors approved a fee schedule for licensing short-term rentals. This will affect rentals in West Marin. Read More Here.

Opening the Mountain, October 5, 2024 - December 21, 2024, MarinMOCA San Rafael
This Inaugural Exhibit for the new MarinMOCA San Rafael pays tribute to the Beat Poets Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder, and Philip Whalen, who in 1965 hiked 15 miles around Mount Tam, circling it as a sacred object. Opening the Mountain brings together many local artists from our community and is co-curated by local artist Asha McGee.

Gallery Route One, Visiting Artist, Terrain in Vain by Amy Yoshitsu, September 14 – October 20, 2024
Gallery Route One is exhibiting “Terrian in Vain” by Amy Yoshitsu as part of its Visiting Artist Series. Her photographic installation of sculptures, images, and collages plays with ideas of shared realities, infrastructure, and how landscape and labor shape who we are and how our identity informs how we understand it.

Wayne Campbell: Residuum, September 21 - November 10, 2024
Residium is “which remains or where bedrock weathers and enriches the soil.”In this exhibition of art installations, Campbell creates conceptual work with steel and glass, floating panels, and mirrors. The exhibition is thought-provoking while displaying an incredible level of craftsmanship.

Harriet Kossman: Bead by Bead, September 21 - November 10, 2024
Harriet Kossman is a beloved former art teacher at Bolinas-Stinson School, where she confounded their Art Shop Program. In this lively exhibition, she has transformed cups and saucers by hand encrusting them with beads, turning them into the wondrous and surprising.

Wildlife Gallery and Studio - Hours Vary, located at the Bolinas Musuem
The Wildlife Studio is a local treasure: part working gallery, and part curio of natural elements, bird specimens, and illustration, run and curated by Keith Hansen. Hansen is an incredible naturalist and illustrator, and his book, Birds of Point Reyes, is available for pre-order now. Stop by the gallery, and order a copy of his new book.
